KLH Twenty Four

KLH Twenty Four

Now you can buy a stereo music system that you can own happily for the rest of your life for just $300.

The new KLH Model Twenty Four will do everything you'd expect a high performance music system to do; and more.

It will play mono and stereo records and mono and stereo FM broadcasts. It has output jacks for making tape recordings, and you can play other music sources (such as a tape recorder or an AM receiver) through it.

All of the electronics in the Model Twenty Four are solid-state. And all of the electronics, as well as the newly designed high performance loudspeakers, are built by KLH in their own plant.

The only component in the Model Twenty Four that isn't built by KLH is the Garrard automatic turntable. It is the same Garrard model used in KLH's most expensive systems.

Because of the Twenty Four's compact size and sensible three piece design, it will fit gracefully into any living room.

Most important, it will produce uncanny sound. It has the range, spaciousness and power of far more ambitious and costly equipment.

I just bought one of these, a KLH Model 24 Turntable with matching Speakers. Mine has a dial knob for AM and another dial knob for the FM band. I've looked at lots of pictures and haven't seen one like mine - yet. Still working on it but it's in good condition.

I've had my am/fm Model 24 w/speakers for years. The sound is wonderful. Very thankful that I acquired this vintage system that works and sound so nice. Thee old Garrard turntable are the weak link, persnickety at best, and a maintenance nightmare. just sayin'

Very nice thrift store pick. Really clean, just replaced some caps on amp board, lubricated changer mechanism, sprayed Deoxit 5 on switches and contacts and refinished the cabinet. Works great and just like the description says I will own it for the rest of my life.

re: Twenty Four repair source

Submitted by drdipstick on November 9th, 2019.

I have just pulled my KLH Model 24 out of storage and plan to give it to a grandson who is very interested in vinyl records. I have cleaned it up and cleaned contacts as best that I can but the unit still has sound issues especially on one channel. Does anyone know of anyone who specializes in repairing these vintage electronics? I would appreciate a recommendation.

Model Twenty Four - FM and AM/FM Versions

Submitted by reneberg on April 27th, 2019.

FYI -There are two versions of this system. I have an 'AM Model Twenty Four' that I am currently restoring. It's different from most that I see pictured in that it's an AM/FM version with two separate tuning dials - one for AM and a second one for FM. There seems to be very little information about this AM/FM version online. The only place that a naming difference is apparent is on the serial number tag where the serial number appears below the heading 'AM - Twenty Four'.

These are very nice units given their price point. Both AM and FM reception are quite good.

KLH Model Twenty Four manual on eBay

Submitted by Adam Heath on September 2nd, 2017.

There's a KLH Model 24 manual listed on eBay if anyone's interested in buying it. It's a single booklet that covers everything you need to know about the Model 24 except the schematic which you can already download from this site. The auction ends next Saturday 09/09/2017. I'd buy it but I don't have any way to scan it for uploading.
